Common sense should have prevailed in Coopers' case
I was appalled when I read that the St. Albert RCMP fined Dr. Jon Cooper for clearing snow with his quad. Our city has always been known for having caring citizens, our volunteers and Good Samaritans.

RCMP has a long way to go to win back public trust
There once was a time I greatly admired the RCMP, but those days sadly are long gone.

Bylaw needs to be more flexible
It sounds as if the responding officers could have perhaps handled the situation a little better. Perhaps by helping the Good Samaritans rather than fining them and impounding their ATV we could have had a different outcome.

Do the crime, pay the fine
Oh please, Irene Tremblay, give us a break. I too am a mother and a grandmother and have lived in St. Albert since 1983 when we emigrated from England. I know that when I break the law, I will be charged with an offence and may be fined.

No fines if you just slow down
Re: “Photo radar unfair to St. Albertans,” Dec. 22 Gazette. Irene Tremblay, you seem like a nice enough woman. Here is some free advice on how to save $246. Ease up on the gas once in a while — slow down! Don Warden, St. Albert

I am not sure who to thank but I would like to applaud whoever is responsible for allowing Nordic skiing track-making in Riverlot 56. It has always been a favourite place to ski, and I enjoy being able to ski on tracked trails again.
