There once was a time I greatly admired the RCMP, but those days sadly are long gone.
In Vancouver, they light up a guy with a Taser until they kill him, cover it up the best they could and still no one has been charged with manslaughter or even lying under oath.
In Kelowna, a man with brain damage is doing his job when he gets ordered to go down on all fours at gunpoint, only to get his teeth kicked in by yet another RCMP officer and we wonder when the aggravated assault charges will be laid.
In St. Albert, a guy is out helping his neighbours dig out from a huge snowstorm and again the RCMP come in and fine him for doing what the city had failed to do, impounded his small plow and even charge his son with resisting arrest when he simply attempted to explain what should have been obvious to anyone with any measure of intellect.
When the RCMP quits becoming a haven to killers, thugs, mindless twits and those among them who try to justify what is unjustifiable, just maybe it will again earn our respect and trust.
But not until then.
