Blodgett's actions added costs to city, taxpayers

I never met Elke Blodgett personally, but I do remember her and the Big Lake Environment Support Society delaying the construction of the much needed Ray Gibbon Drive. I bet her opposition cost the city a significant amount of money in increased construction costs, court battles, endless environmental studies, etc. Guess what? The ducks in the pond don’t seem to care about the traffic.

However, there are thousands of St. Albertans who had to waste valuable time in traffic jams on 184 Street and 170 Street because Elke and her friends, who obviously didn’t need to drive to work every morning into Edmonton, could delay a much needed road. I think most St. Albertans spoke loud and clearly when they turfed the then-city council. I guess the politically correct crowd is writing history.
