Do the crime, pay the fine

Oh please, Irene Tremblay, give us a break. I too am a mother and a grandmother and have lived in St. Albert since 1983 when we emigrated from England. I know that when I break the law, I will be charged with an offence and may be fined.

That is what you did when you sped through a photo radar trap — you broke the law and you pay the fine for being caught. No one is stealing from you. You have committed a crime.

If you “made a mistake moving here” then move away. By the way, the last time I voted I was definitely under the impression it was a democratic process. I might not be totally happy with the result, but I did get to vote, unlike communist countries. Where are you getting these ideas?

You say you pay $4,300 in taxes. Well, I live in a five-bedroom, four-level split in Grandin and my taxes are $3,250 so I don’t know which part of St. Albert you live in. Maybe you should downsize? Remember there are only two things that are certain in life — taxes and death.

In your case, I think you should take a deep breath and chill and stop blaming everyone else in this world for your woes and do something about them instead of mouthing off at the police, city council, the federal and provincial governments — you are only making a fool of yourself, no one else.
