This Mother's Day weekend my husband had to work 14-hour shifts on both Saturday and Sunday. This left me at home with our boys as the fulltime parent after working fulltime all week as a teacher in Edmonton.

Another open letter to St. Albert City Council and Administration. Re: The appointment of Gilles Prefontaine. My concerns are process and costs. I have more than 35 years of HR experience in the public and private sectors.

I am writing in support of the Pregnancy Care Centre (PCC) for their WAIT! Let’s Talk Sex program being taught in junior and senior high schools throughout Alberta.

St. Albert is a special place. I was once again reminded of this simple truth as I looked around and felt the support and love that emanated from the crowd gathered at Lions Park this past Friday evening.

I am concerned that council has decided to allow private personal trainers to practice at Servus Place. As a frequent user, I have witnessed how difficult it can be for the trainers at Servus to find areas to train their own clients.

Well done to the mayor and council of the City of St Albert. In 2010 we were second only to Grande Prairie for residential tax rates and utility fees and you are continuing to strive to be No. 1.

Way to go St. Albert and area, for electing two completely inexperienced and unmotivated individuals as MLAs for our district. I did not realize the backgrounds of those elected into office until I read the articles in the Gazette on Saturday, May 9.

As a follow up to the Your Views comment in the Gazette, May 6, by Dan Hallet – Utilities become just another tax. At our household, consisting of two seniors, our latest bill was $300 (I watered my grass once for 45 minutes).

I wish to express my gratitude to the amazing nurses, orderlies and doctors of Unit 27 at the Sturgeon General Hospital. I recently spent from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
