I recently received a $120 speeding ticket on Villeneuve Road westbound west of the Walmart going to Ray Gibbon Drive. Apparently the speed limit is a painfully slow 60km/h on what looks like a rural road.

To the fish and wildlife officer(s) who were involved in shooting a moose in St. Albert on March 29, I say hats off to you gentlemen; you are well trained and did what you had to do.

The article “library borrowing could reach $25 million" in (Gazette, April 5) about the potential cost of a new branch library has many ill-founded assumptions that must embarrass our citizens.

It is time that we started to look at the practicality in considering the design of a new library. Don’t waste money on fancy designs, which takes up most of the cost.

The story “Tax season looking bleak,” (Gazette, April 1) seemed concerned that “several tax credits have been axed and next year several more will cease to exist.

Talk about the gang that couldn't shoot straight. The tainted and highly questionable survey commissioned by Mayor Nolan Crouse originally stated that the total cost of the proposed library branch was not to exceed $20 million.

Free speech is not the foundation upon which Canada was built, unlike as Barb Bauer states (Gazette, April 1). Rather, Canada was set up as a democracy.

I am writing in regard to the story (Gazette, March 11) about the naming of the Employment Lands. Planning branch manager Kristina Peter was tasked with recommending a name.

I just read: “Moose shot dead in city” (Gazette, April 1). Yes, it is unfortunate the mother moose died. There is concern the fish and wildlife officers didn't do their job properly and there is a call for an investigation.
