I am writing in regard to the story (Gazette, March 11) about the naming of the Employment Lands.
Planning branch manager Kristina Peter was tasked with recommending a name. She organized a panel and they came up with the name Lakeview Business District.
Congratulations to all members of this panel for coming up with (in my opinion) an excellent choice.
With the exception of Cam MacKay, all council members voted to not accept the recommendation of Kristina Peter at this time, as they want to name it themselves.
Anybody want to bet on a consensus from this council on this subject?
I would respectfully suggest that city councillors park their egos, as well as their inability to come up with a suitable name, and move on to more important matters.
