Snow warning, shmo warning.
A special weather statement by Environment Canada that sent up the alarm over a possible – probable, even – five centimetres of snow in St. Albert Tuesday morning was clearly misplaced.
Damp though it was, the decidedly autumnal forecast of a mix of rain and snow mostly fizzled, which sets the stage for a warm Wednesday and end to the work week.
The forecast now sees a high of 9 C for today, 13 C Thursday and 16 C Friday. That’s easily 14 degrees above normal.
An overnight low below freezing now is not expected until Saturday night, capping off four days of sunny conditions.
Four days. Of sunny conditions.
