My daughter and I attended the opening night of Paul Kane's production of Les Miserables and enjoyed the play so much. What a talented bunch of kids.

I can't see how cautioning citizens to think more and think for themselves can be a bad thing. My only criticism of Brian McLeod's column ( Gazette , Jan. 3) is that it doesn't go nearly far enough.

I am glad that I live in a city like St Albert. On Sunday Jan. 14, I had a flat tire on Gervais just east of St Albert Trail. Four incidents that followed elevated my faith in my fellow citizens, especially the younger generation.

In response to the letter from Ken Johnson ( Gazette , Jan. 20) I should point out that I do live in Braeside but I am not a member of the “Braeside centric friends of the St. Albert River Valley.

Moving to St. Albert from Swift Current, I notice how the RCMP is tight-fisted, almost begrudging news releases to the Gazette. Yet the RCMP in Swift Current release all facts from cases their RCMP officers worked on.

As a 38-year St Albert resident it is my obligation and democratic right to voice my opinion on what has transpired in three short months with St. Albert city council. Based on the following rationale I give our new city council a Grade F rating.

Jerry Wowk raises an interesting question ( Gazette , Jan. 13) concerning the price of the new city water conservation bylaw. Most people would expect there would be a savings for reduced water consumption, however not in St. Albert.

There is much controversy about the plastic bag situation. I for one use fabric bags regularly. However, I am concerned with the one–sided approach to this issue. By far, retail businesses seem to be the least responsible for the management of waste.
