Kudos to the city and their contractors for excellent snow removal and street maintenance during the exceptional winter storms. Nice to see that the City is already preparing for the next storm. Pat yourself on the back, you deserve it.

Your Jan. 19 front-page article, “Catholic board says no to secular school in Morinville,” gave much food for thought about what public schools should be.

3 Re: ‘Oil’s well in Alberta?’, Jan. 22 Gazette: Like all matters involving the oilsands, it is difficult to separate flim-flam from science.

When the weather was so cold and snowy on Friday, Jan. 14, my elderly parents were waiting for a cab at the entry of the Liberton Medical Clinic. Many people spoke to them to see why they were sitting there so long.

An open letter to Mayor Nolan Crouse: I live in St. Albert. I work in St. Albert. I pay taxes to the City of St. Albert. I park in the lot between St. Anne and Perron streets.

I would like to congratulate Paradise Pets on its decision not to sell puppies or cats in its store and to recommend future pet owners to go to the Edmonton Humane Society.

Re: Snow plow controversy: Wow, has this ever garnered attention. Regardless of the outcome I will not lose any respect for the St. Albert RCMP. From personal experiences, they are very professional and are a credit to our community.

Re: St. Albert Community Foundation: I applaud the excellent spread in your Jan. 19 Gazette. You rightfully praise the St. Albert Community Foundation’s philanthropy. The spread also included photos of seven board members, all handsome men.

Thank you to the gentleman who helped my husband and son at Home Depot in St. Albert to bring home our new washer. The new washer could not fit in his vehicle and the gentleman offered to take it to our home without taking any money from my husband.
