Man accused of armed robbery at St. Albert store

A 41-year-old man of no fixed address faces charges after an alleged robbery at a St. Albert mall Oct. 30.

Mounties say on that day they received a complaint that a man with a knife had tried to rob a store employee at the Smart Centre Shopping Plaza on St. Albert Trail.

“The male individual fled from the store but was located by RCMP a short time later in the area,” a news release read. “The male was arrested and no one was injured.” 

Ryan Gambler, 41 is charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resist arrest and two counts each of assault and disobeying a court order.

He is out of custody on conditions set by a justice of the peace and is scheduled to appear in St. Albert court Nov. 18.
