The Canterbury Tales whips the audience back to roughly 1375 in England’s Middle Ages in a spinoff of Geoffrey Chaucer’s famous tales.

"We didn't know what to expect, with the town or our business. As we drove in, I just really wanted to take it all in. I wanted to honour and respect this beautiful place and what occurred here," says Jasper business owner.

The premise is simple. Four wacky individuals meet regularly to discuss their personal alien abductions.

In Sweet Jesus – The Gospel According to Felt, the two millennia-old Messiah is an arm puppet with bug eyes, scraggly hair and very long arms. He’s returned to Earth to see if his great sacrifice was worth it.

Thirty-fifth annual event draws 180 entrants, including 50 competing for first time.

RCMP will still conduct patrols within the townsite, which currently has limited services and no offerings for tourists.
