It's Day 8 of the Gazette's 12 Days of Christmas Kindness Program, where we celebrate a local person who does good for others and do some good to them!

Today’s gift is going to Melissa Lucas, who was nominated by her partner, Andrew Cowan. Here’s what Andrew told us about Melissa:

"My partner is a Neo-Natal Intensive Care Nurse at the Stollery. She works really hard in a stressful job. She also takes care of all of us with so much love. I would like to show her how much we love and appreciate her. Her birthday is December 20th and it gets lost in the Christmas season. I would like to make her birthday stand out this year!"

12 Days of Christmas Kindness is a series of videos running from Dec. 13 to 24 in the Gazette. Check out other videos in the series here:
DAY 1: "The heart of the neighbourhood"
DAY 2: "The angel of Facebook"
DAY 3: "Every street needs a light on it"
DAY 4: From Ukraine to St. Albert, with love
DAY 5: A heart of gold, a zest for life
DAY 6: Pet helper gets a treat
DAY 7: It takes a village to keep up with Helen

Andrew says Melissa would love something pampering, so we went to our friends at Argos Restaurant in St. Albert and they generously gave us a $250 gift card to Andrew and Melissa can have a memorable meal!

Click the video to see what happened when we surprised Melissa and Andrew when they were out for a drink to celebrate their recent engagement (congratulations you two!), and make sure to come back each day from Dec. 13 to Dec. 24 for a fresh story of Christmas kindness!
