Welcome to Day 1 of the St. Albert Gazette's 12 Days of Christmas Kindness, where we celebrate a local person who does good for others and do some good to them!
Our very first recipient is Derrick White, who was nominated by his friend and neighbour Kevin Malinowski. Here's some of what Kevin had to say about Derrick in his nomination:
"Derrick has been a fixture in our neighbourhood for years. Never saying no to anyone that asks for help. He invests his time in the seniors in our neighbourhood that have no one else. This may be driving them back and forth to doctor’s appointments or shopping for groceries. He thinks nothing of running a quick errand for anyone else.

"Everyone on the crescent knows who Derrick is and none have a single bad word to say about him. The down side, is that because Derrick gives so much of himself, he has been taken advantage of. He has the heart that so many of us can only wish for."
