It's Day 7 of the Gazette's 12 Days of Christmas Kindness Program, where we celebrate a local person who does good for others and do some good to them!

Today’s gift is going to Helen Agbonson, who was nominated by her husband, Idy. Here’s what Idy told us about Helen:

"Helen works tirelessly to keep the Africans and African Descendents Friendship Club of St Albert running. She helps organize a "Taste of Africa" event showcasing African culture to residents of St Albert and area , She is also organizes the "It takes a village to raise a child” event, which bring African Youths together to help direct their their paths.

12 Days of Christmas Kindness is a series of videos running from Dec. 13 to 24 in the Gazette. Check out other videos in the series here:
DAY 1: "The heart of the neighbourhood"
DAY 2: "The angel of Facebook"
DAY 3: "Every street needs a light on it"
DAY 4: From Ukraine to St. Albert, with love
DAY 5: A heart of gold, a zest for life
DAY 6: Pet helper gets a treat

"Helen spends most of her time outside of her regular 9-5 work supporting her community, and she deserves some kindness."

We couldn't agree more!

Idy says Helen could do with some pampering, so we talked to our friends at Sorrentino’s, who gave us a $250 gift card for a sumptuous dinner. The folks at Studio 107 did a lovely gift basket from Purdy’s as well as a $250 gift card to Sobey’s.

Click the video to hear more from Idy about what makes Helen special, then watch us go knock on Helen’s door and give her some Christmas cheer! Come back each day from Dec. 13 to Dec. 24 for a fresh story of Christmas kindness!
