The bantam AAA Cardinals got off to a good start against the Spruce Grove White Sox Wednesday night, but a lack of runs and too many errors resulted in a 16-4 loss for St. Albert.

The St. Albert Rugby Football Club made the decision last week to fold its third division men’s team that played in the Edmonton Rugby Union. Club president Matt Herod said low membership was the reason for the decision.

Bantam AA gold The St. Albert Bantam AA Cardinals came home from the Valley of Champions tournament in Kelowna, B.C. with something to celebrate when they won the gold medal.

The midget AAA Cardinals earned their second win in as many nights when they beat Spruce Grove 2 with a 10-9 score Thursday night at Legion Park. The Cards gave up nothing to the Sherwood Park Athletics the previous evening earning an 11-0 victory.

Thursday was a tough night on the pitch for the St. Albert Impact 1 men in premier soccer. The Impact dropped their game 5-3 to Edmonton Victoria. Edmonton is the division leader while St. Albert is currently at No. 6 in the rankings.
