Bantam AA gold
The St. Albert Bantam AA Cardinals came home from the Valley of Champions tournament in Kelowna, B.C. with something to celebrate when they won the gold medal.
The Cardinals finished their round robin play with a 1-1-1 record and went on to defeat host Kelowna with an 8-6 score. In the tournament final against the Vernon Canadians, the Cardinals pulled off a 14-13 championship win.
“As the coach, I could not have been more proud of a group of kids who never gave up and overcame several obstacles on their way to victory,” head coach Jason Enright stated in an e-mail. “And as much as I like to highlight some of the outstanding individual achievements, this was truly, in fact, a total team effort.”
