In the Norwest Midget AAA Baseball League, the St. Albert Cardinals take on SEEBA tonight at Legion Park.

St. Albert is currently in the sixth spot in the standings, while SEEBA occupies the second last spot in the 13-team Norwest League.

On Tuesday St. Albert hosted the Spruce Grove White Sox 1 at home. The score was unavailable at press time.

Also at Legion Park tonight, the bantam Cardinals are hosting Spruce Grove at 7 p.m.

St. Albert is currently ranked fourth in the league standings with a 15-11 record. The Spruce Grove White Sox (14-7) are one rung down the ladder at fifth place.

At the Saskatoon Minor Baseball Bantam AAA Tournament on the weekend St. Albert didn’t allow the Saskatoon Cardinals any runs when they beat the host team 5-0 in their first game. In their second contest, the Cardinals bested the Moose Jaw Mallards 7-2.

The Cardinals finished at the top of pool C, but were knocked out of the competition by a 5-3 loss against the Saskatoon Blue Jays who are the top team in the Saskatoon league.

The St. Albert Rugby Football Club U17 and U19 boys are both on the pitch tonight at Edmonton Rugby Park.

The U19 squad will face Clan White at 6 p.m. and the U17 team takes on the Clansmen at 6:30 p.m.

Both St. Albert teams are leading the Edmonton Rugby Union standings recording no losses so far this season.

The St. Albert Impact Men 1 are at home against S.S. Lazio on Thursday night at Riel Recreation Park in Edmonton District Soccer Association premier men’s soccer.

Game time is 8:30 p.m.

The Impact 1 lost 3-1 to the No. 2-ranked AC Milan 1 on Monday night.

St. Albert is in sixth place in the men’s premier league standings. S.S. Lazio currently occupies eighth place.

The annual St. Albert Sailfish Swim Club meet goes this weekend at the Fountain Park pool in the Alberta Summer Swimming Association.

Distance events take place Friday, July 19 starting at 7 p.m. and the meet continues Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 275 swimmers from Whitecourt, Westlock, Hinton, Jasper, Drayton Valley, Devon, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain will compete against about 75 St. Albert swimmers at the yearly competition.
