St. Albert’s midget AA teams face-off tonight at Go Auto Arena. Game time is 8:15 p.m. between the Crusaders and Blues in the Northern Alberta Midget AA Hockey League.

The comeback kids did it again. The St. Albert High Skyhawks scored the winning points against the St. Francis Xavier Rams with another thrilling finish in their second playoff game in four days in Miles division two football.

The St. Albert Merchants skate tonight against the Beverly Warriors in the Capital Junior B Hockey League. Game time is 8 p.m. at Clareview Arena. Beverly (8-3-2) is second and the Merchants (7-5-1) are fourth in the west division.

The beat goes on for the Paul Kane Blues. The winners of six in a row march into Friday’s semifinal as the second-place Carr division one team in metro Edmonton football. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

A celebration of life for Todd Ewen is Oct. 9 in St. Albert. The memorial for the St. Albert minor hockey product and former NHL player will be held at the Victory Life Church. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and the service begins at 2 p.m.

The season starts this weekend for the St. Albert Raiders in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League. The Raiders play the Southside Athletic Club today at 5:15 p.m. at Bill Hunter Arena and the puck drop for Sunday’s home opener is 1:15 p.m.

The team to beat in today’s provincial final will defend its Labatt’s Cup against the surprising Calgary Saints. The premier men’s rugby championship kicks off at 4:15 p.m. at Ellerslie Rugby Park and admission is $5.
