St. Albert’s midget AA teams face-off tonight at Go Auto Arena.
Game time is 8:15 p.m. between the Crusaders and Blues in the Northern Alberta Midget AA Hockey League.
The Crusaders (6-1-1) are ranked first in the Clean Harbors division and the Blues (2-4-2) are tied for fifth in the Investors Group division.
Both teams are coming off road victories Saturday. The Crusaders defeated the Northeast Panthers 5-1 in Bonnyville and the Blues downed the Leduc Roughnecks 6-2.
Gavin Barter potted a pair and Robert Putt, Seth Summers and Mattias Neset tallied against the Panthers (0-8). Parker Waseylenko (2-1, 2.67 GAA) stopped 23 shots for the 2015 Fountain Tire Cup finalists.
Christian MacDonald, Justin Roy, Brett Mossing, Daniel Lewis, Andrew Palladino and Sam Smith-Ackerl scored and Chris Curr (2-2, 2.51 GAA) faced 35 shots against Leduc (3-3).
The St. Albert Physical Education Council junior high volleyball semifinals swing into action Thursday for the boys and Friday for the girls.
Monday’s quarter-final pairings for the boys were the Morinville Wolves (7-0) vs. Elmer S. Gish Warriors (0-7), Sir George Simpson Voyageurs (6-1) vs. ESSMY Leopards (1-6), Lorne Akins Gators (5-2) vs. William D. Cuts Crusaders (2-5) and Richard S. Fowler Falcons (4-3) vs. Vincent J. Maloney Marauders (3-4).
Tuesday’s quarter-finals for the girls featured VJM (7-0) vs. Gish (0-7), Gators (5-2) vs. Morinville (2-5), Simpson (5-2) vs. ESSMY (2-5) and Fowler (4-3) vs. Cuts (3-4).

The Tier I city finals are Nov. 19 at Bellerose Composite High School.
The defending champions are the Gators for the boys and Simpson for the girls.
The St. Albert Riders are one victory away from going to their second consecutive Tier 2 provincial final in peewee football.
The winner of the Capital District Minor Football Association’s Tier 2 championship between the Riders (3-4-1) and Edmonton Black Raiders (4-4) will huddle up in the Nov. 14 provincial final in Calgary.
Saturday’s kick-off is 11:30 a.m. at Millwoods Park Field and admission is $5.
Last weekend’s semifinal scores were 16-6 for the Riders over Strathcona (2-6) and 52-34 for the Raiders against the St. Albert Colts (0-8) in Spruce Grove.
In league play the Riders lost 49-22 to the Raiders on Sept. 20.
Last year the Riders finished 6-4 overall as the Tier 2 CDMFA champions and provincial finalists.
