LETTER: Outstanding care from our health care workers

While we always hear of so many negative comments and experiences in regards to our health care workers and facilities, we would like to share ours.
LETTERS

While we always hear of so many negative comments and experiences in regards to our health care workers and facilities, we would like to share ours.
Over the Christmas holidays, we were one of many families that experienced a serious medical condition that affected one of our family members. This resulted in them ending up in the Strathcona Community Hospital and then Sturgeon Community Hospital. The events and stay dated from Dec. 22 to the 28 and was an extremely stressful time for us as a family. Our family member, who was admitted, was treated with kindness, and the upmost respect at both hospitals. This same treatment extended to our family as well. The doctors and nurses were very compassionate, always keeping us informed and at ease through this stressful time. With it being the holidays, Sturgeon hospital staff allowed our entire family to gather and have a little celebration.
We can not express our gratitude enough to the doctors and especially the nurses for their kindness, compassion and laughter at a time when there were so many unknowns. Their work was amazing, but their compassion and thoughtfulness towards our family will be forever remembered.
Let’s also remember that these hard-working people carry these situations home with them as well, and even though it’s stressful, they still put themselves out there to make it easier for their patients.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this Christmas much easier in a scary time. We appreciate all that you do for your communities.
