Once again I am dumbfounded by this council's lack of respect for the taxpayers. They are looking to spend taxpayers' money on Oiler watch parties. What are they thinking? In these economic times there should only be needs on the table, not wants. When more and more people are heading to the food banks, not being able to afford rent and everyday essentials, this council finds it appropriate to spend money on parties? There are plenty of watch parties already. Perhaps this council should learn how to respect our money. I get that people are excited about the playoffs, but is this an appropriate use of our money? Here's an idea: lower the tax rates. Help to lower the cost of living instead of throwing parties. I hope that people are outraged by this. Come the next election I can only hope that once and for all this council will be thrown out. Obviously, this council has too much of our money. Take nice-to-haves off the table and put needs on the table only.
