LETTER: Be respectful with dogs

This is regarding dogs and their owners. The respect for people and their property is gone. Where my mom lives she has had dog poop left on her driveway and several times on her sidewalk. They let their dogs pee on her bushes.
LETTERS

This is regarding dogs and their owners. The respect for people and their property is gone. Where my mom lives she has had dog poop left on her driveway and several times on her sidewalk. They let their dogs pee on her bushes. I’ve had to cut off many dead branches on the bushes. On the boulevard, there is a brown strip of grass 6 feet long by 16 inches wide from dog pee. I witnessed a gentleman with three dogs. One of the dogs was a bulldog that started taking a leak on the driveway. The urine left a 3-foot stain on the driveway. I confronted the gentleman, asking him if he could do that somewhere else. He squared up with me and became very rude. I spoke with bylaw after that. They told me that I need to get a video of the dogs doing this. Bylaw also said that at this point it is malicious harassment. My mom has recently moved into this neighbourhood. She is now thinking that it was a mistake. She’s very upset about the events that have taken place. I live in St. Albert as well. I have the same issue, but on a much smaller scale. It’s not only at my mom‘s place. It’s all over the neighborhood. Are we not supposed to be the best city in Western Canada? Shame on the people who are doing this. People can’t even take pride in having a nice yard anymore.
