2021 Federal Election Coverage

In Alberta, Conservatives held strong in rural regions, with every riding called for the party, except for Peace River-Westlock, where Conservative incumbent Arnold Vierson is leading with 60.9 per cent of the vote with 24 per cent of polls reporting.

Just after 9 p.m. Lloyd had 59.8 per cent of the vote in the riding, with 6,538 votes cast in his favour.

Just before 9 p.m. Cooper had 45.5 per cent of the vote, with 6,156 votes cast in his favour.

It is unknown if the Liberals will have a majority or minority government.

Preliminary numbers from advanced polls show around 5,780,000 voters across the country cast an early ballot, an increase of 18.46 per cent compared to the last election.

The federal election is on Sept. 20, the same day proof of vaccination for discretionary events and businesses in Alberta comes into effect.
