All taxpayers of St. Albert should be deeply concerned that Councillor Natalie Joly is proposing that the audit committee is to be disbanded even before it gets a chance to start.

To Mayor Cathy Heron, city council and all residents of St. Albert. The rainbow crosswalk idea ( Gazette , May 12) would be a complete waste of taxpayers' money.

Allow me to add some context to Kevin Ma’s story ( Gazette , May 12) "Métis Spring Festival.” It really starts with the Hudson’s Bay Company chartered in 1670, focused on an expanding fur Industry. Main centres were Winnipeg and Montreal.

I was just reading ( Gazette , May 12) that there was a recent poll online in regards to whether to use taxpayers' money to pay for a rainbow crosswalk. I did not see the poll since I am not on facebook nor do I spend all my time on the computer.

Come on people, do you really need your car horn to honk or chirp to tell you your car is locked? No, no you don't. This is an outdated mode of indicating your car is locked and it is noise pollution and offensive.

There's some interesting rhetorical sleight-of-hand at the opening of Doris Wrench Eisler's most recent letter ( Gazette , May 9). She criticizes Dr. Jordan B.

Re: Healthcare solution by John Kennair ( Gazette , April 28) To add to what John has already said. Over the past 18 years I have known two retired doctors who worked under a two-tiered health care system in the U.K.

Re: "Online poll stirs rainbow crosswalk conflict" ( Gazette , May 12). Roads to nowhere, yellow crosswalks, multi-colour crosswalks and intersection dividers, traffic calming devices that don’t work and the list goes on. Now rainbow crosswalks.

I agree with John Kennair ( Gazette , April 28; “Healthcare solutions”) that “Healthcare could be a potential campaign issue for Alberta’s next election.” Where we disagree is on the dynamics of the issue.

It seems to me that the dog bylaws have gotten way too bureaucratic and complicated in St. Albert.
