Let’s hope that when the city develops its plan for a special business licence for Uber that we don’t apply old, out dated business rules to a new Internet-based, sharing-economy company.

While a major sewage line (Project 9) would be needed to develop the annexed lands, it should not be a priority for building at this time. Emphasis needs to be placed on addressing challenges from existing and already approved land development.

The Committee for St. Albert Chapter Seniors United Now is right in saying affordable housing is not just a seniors’ problem – it is a national problem. That is very true, but St. Albert definitely has a problem.

Finally, the lack of adequate pool space is going to be on St. Albert Council’s radar. I have made this public knowledge on several occasions through this newspaper.

I have read two letters recently from those who feel the library was shortchanged during this budget cycle. Both letters make some extremely valid points, however I feel one important fact has been missed that everyone should be aware of.

It is with utter disgust that I read Brian McLeod's commentary in the Jan. 6 edition of the St. Albert Gazette, "NDP have failed at communication.

My wife, Lois Love, of 40 years has recently retired from the baby room of a local day care.

A great big thank you to the person or persons who cleared the ice on the lake in our community. This ice rink has been a source of pleasure for many kids and families especially over the holidays. It is a great way to meet your neighbours.

Mike Zapchek has made his case and I for one agree that the refugee program falls far short of ideal or is even acceptable.
