In the early 1980s I was the only person employed at the St. Albert Seniors Club (except for the cleaners). I was the independent living and outreach co-ordinator and I had a great group of volunteers.

Thanks for the laugh, dude (Re: Ross McCullough’s Feb. 10 letter, Say no to wind power.) Global warming is a very real threat, and is based on actual scientific fact, both at home, as well as internationally.

I read the article by your columnist Jill Cunningham and enjoyed most of it until her less than scientific remarks regarding the energy industry’s extraction processes.

I like the fact that my letter (Gazette, Jan. 30) has started a controversy. That is what democracy is about. I would like to make a point. I am not always in agreement with my son in law or the mayor like many suggest. I do have my own views too.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a little boy. I disdained dolls, tea parties, and all things pink and girlish. I embraced baseball and hockey, and beating all my classroom peers in arm wrestling.

Over the past several weeks, the Gazette has published numerous articles from concerned St. Albert residents related to our city council. Each issue of the Gazette has another opinion or rebuttal from comments in a previous issue.

I write about a letter from Mr. F. Wright (Jan. 30, 2016) and a response from Mr. N. Harley (Feb. 03, 2016). Mr. Wright comments on council bickering.

Michael Cooper, MP, has blessed us all with his latest broadsheet. He claims “Election reform requires a referendum.” As a lawyer, Mr. Cooper knows that is false, but it is the latest Conservative line.
