April 8, 1924 - May 6, 2025
It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Carmen Mary Vold of St. Albert on May 6, 2025, at the age of 101.
Carmen was born in Vancouver, but lived most of her life in Alberta. Carmen went to school in north Edmonton, married and had four children. Carmen was a strong and determined individual. As a single parent, she worked and raised her children from a time when they were all still quite young. In the early 1970s, she met and married Everett Vold.
Carmen was involved in her community and favourite charities. She had many interests, hobbies and later in life became an artist and avid quilter.
Carmen will be greatly missed by her children, Linda (Tom) Cockle, Mathew (Lynda) Wesolowski, Robert (Debbie) Wesolowski and Susan Vold. Carmen will also be missed by her 7 grandchildren and her 9 great grandchildren.
Carmen was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Cecile Mann, her sisters, Marcia Gray and Gloria Runck, and her husband, Everett.
Carmen’s family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Youville Home in St. Albert. Friends are invited, if they wish, to make a donation in Carmen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Northern Alberta.
A private service and interment was held for Carmen on May 22, 2025 at the Glenwood Funeral Home in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
