UPDATE: As of the morning of Aug. 8, the Tim Hortons has now reopened. In an emailed statement, St. Albert Fire Chief Everett Cooke said the RCMP are still investigating the incident.

"The occupant of the vehicle was assessed by fire crews suffering minor injuries and was not transported to hospital. No one inside the building was injured. The impact resulted in some damage to the outside of the building," Cooke said.

The Tim Hortons on Carnegie Drive was closed Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 7), after a vehicle veered off the road and crashed into the side of the building on Thursday afternoon.

St. Albert RCMP and fire crews were on the scene at around 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 7, clearing the wreckage from the drive thru and investigating the cause of the crash.
