The City of St. Albert says the “pump control issues” that appeared earlier today that caused water pressure throughout the city to fluctuate have now been resolved and residents and businesses shouldn't be having any issues.

“Please be advised the water distribution system in St. Albert is experiencing system pressure fluctuations due to pump control issues at all reservoir locations,” the city posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

“The City is working to resolve the situation, however pressure fluctuations potentially affecting customers throughout the City are expected throughout the afternoon.”

Just before 2:00 p.m. the city posted an update saying that residents “may notice discolouration and/or air bubbles in the water as a result of the system pressure loss.”

“It is recommended that residents run taps until the water becomes clear.”

The Gazette has reached out to the city for more information about the situation but has yet to receive a response.
