Environment Canada's forecast sees daily highs in the deep double-digit minuses for the end of this year and the beginning of the next, together being the work week.
Cloudy conditions will persist today and into Tuesday as the cold temperatures work their way in to the region. High -8 C today with a windchill near -14. New Year's Eve will see a high of -11 C but the wind of up to 15 km/h will make it feel more like -18.
It gets worse.
Wednesday the sun will come out, but don't be fooled. It brings with it a high of just -16 C, Thursday same but colder.
Cloudy conditions will return at the end of the week, with flurries threatened on Saturday.
