Environment Canada expects the temperature to drop to 4 C before the sun returns to us Thursday morning

Today’s clear conditions are expected to pave the way for a simply delightful high of 23 C at about 4 p.m.

Fear not the forecast, St. Albert.

There is a cloud front looming in the distance, but it doesn’t appear to have any teeth, according to Environment Canada.

Currently at the Villeneuve weather station it’s 12.3 C with a 22 km/h wind out of the west-northwest and gusts of 32 km/h.

Today’s clear conditions are expected to pave the way for a simply delightful high of 23 C at about 3 p.m. The wind could pick up with gusts up to 40 km/h this afternoon.

They’ll also leave the door open to a terrifying overnight low of 4 C at 6 a.m. Thursday, heralding lower temperatures for the end of the week.

That low also represents the first warning of possible frost overnight.

Thursday’s high is expected to climb, if you can call it that, to 18 C with sunny conditions all day and a chance of showers overnight.

Friday’s high looks to be a thoroughly dreary 12 C with cloudy conditions and another 60 per cent chance of showers overnight.

But don’t fret, as the weekend forecast has shifted from showers to sun with highs in the high teens, and a possibility of rain Sunday night.

Though choking and sputtering, summer is still with us.
