A fog advisory warning of sudden drops in visibility issued Sunday night is still in effect early Monday morning for St. Albert.

“Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero,” Environment Canada warned at 6:09 p.m. “Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.”

The forecast also warned of a risk of freezing drizzle creating slippery conditions in some areas.

The fog is expected to dissipate later in the morning with a westward wind of 20 km/h and gusts up to 40 kn/h in the afternoon. The high is expected to climb to 5 C, continuing the above-seasonal trend from the weekend.

If there is to be a white Christmas, it will be fleeting. The unusually warm temperatures are expected to persist to at least next weekend, with daily highs just above freezing.
