Rain and cooler temperatures prompted St. Albert Fire Services to lift entirely a fire advisory imposed in April.

Leaves prepare to fall and with them, the city’s fire advisory.

Cooler temperatures and precipitation this week led to the announcement from St. Albert Fire Services Friday morning.

“There are no fire restrictions, bans or advisories in place for St. Albert,” it read. Still: “Residents are asked to use extra caution with propane and natural gas outdoor appliances, and dispose of smoking materials (cannabis, cigarettes, cigars, matches or lighters) properly. A reminder that the discharge of unauthorized pyrotechnics and fireworks is prohibited at all times within the City of St. Albert.”

It was a drier, windier place April 26 when the city imposed a fire advisory, drier and hotter still when the advisory was upgraded to a restriction July 12.

The restriction was downgraded back to an advisory two weeks later. Its final day was today, Sept. 13.

“St. Albert Fire Services will continue to monitor and updates will be provided on stalbert.ca and albertafirebans.ca,” the city release read.

To report a fire, phone 911.
