The Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) in the Edmonton region is expected to reach a seven (high risk) this evening, and the high risk rating will continue into Thursday, according to The Weather Network.

The AQHI is a scale between 1 (low risk) to 11 (very high risk) that indicates the potential health hazards of exposure to poor air quality.

An AQHI score between 7-11 is high risk. It is recommended to reduce or reschedule strenuous outdoor activities if you experience coughing or throat irritation.
