Friends and family of beloved Alberta politician Gene Zwozdesky celebrated the life of the former Speaker of the House at St. Albert's Enjoy Centre Wednesday afternoon.
Although not from St. Albert, Zwozdesky worked as a teacher, administrator, professional musician and business owner before he was elected MLA for Edmonton-Mill Creek in 1993. He served as speaker from 2012 to 2015.
Zwozdesky passed away Jan. 6 after a battle with cancer.
