St. Albert police hope the public can help them find a 12-year-old girl who has been missing since Aug. 25.

The St. Albert RCMP put out a call for help Aug. 26 for any information on the whereabouts of Mackenzie Thom, a 12-year-old resident of St. Albert.

Alberta RCMP Cpl. Troy Savinkoff said Thom was last seen on Aug. 25, 2024, in St. Albert, when she willingly left home in the company of another teen.

“When they had left initially, they had indicated a desire to go to West Edmonton Mall,” he said of the two.

The teen was later located in Edmonton, but Thom has yet to be found, Savinkoff said.

“Her being 12 years old is fairly young and quite concerning.”

Thom was described as being 5’7”, 150 pounds, with a medium complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black Gap hoodie, grey sweatpants, and black Nike shoes.

Anyone with information on Thom’s whereabouts should call St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
