Weather conditions in St. Albert, Sherwood Park and Edmonton could lead to funnel clouds in the afternoon and early evening hours, according to Environment Canada.
The department issued an advisory for the region at 1:59 p.m. Wednesday.
The advisory notes the type of funnel cloud that could develop is generated by "weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado."
It's the second funnel cloud advisory in the past week. Last Wednesday, the department issued a similar advisory for the area.
