My 10 years of connecting directly with the community – residents, groups and organizations, through my work as executive assistant to the mayor, inspired me to want to serve the residents of St. Albert. Q: What skills and experiences have prepared you for this office? Having worked in municipal government I recognize the different, but vital roles that city council and administration have and the importance of the relationship between the two. My experience in the mayor's office has given me an understanding of the many individuals, groups, associations and organizations that bring a perspective/contribute to the quality of life and small-city community spirit we enjoy. Having benefited from what St. Albert has come to offer as I raised my family here, I appreciate the need for visioning with future generations in mind. I bring a personal commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Q: What do you think are the most important issues to the community at large? Housing options – Insuring that individuals and families who choose to make their home in St. Albert can remain here throughout all stages of their lives. Growth – Managing its implications on traffic, service levels, siting of facilities, green space and sense of community. City council effectiveness – Keeping dialogue, direction and decision-making focused on the best interests of the community. Q: What specific goals will you work to achieve if elected? – Build good working relationships with each of my city council colleagues. – Work with council, administration and the community to ensure that planning is up-to-date for all forms of development (housing, servicing, recreation, transportation). – Further diversify housing options to meet the needs of all generations.
