Opinion - Put the salary increase to a vote
The Opinion piece in this week's paper nails it! Kudos to the editor.
The salary increase the council is looking to give themselves is absurd.
The $86,000 median income for a single parent household is way off track. A lot of the senior population here trying to survive on CPP and OAS is at or below the poverty line.
Will council get it?? I doubt it for the majority of them, they appear to be in it only for themselves and not for the people who pay them through property taxes.
