LETTER: Thanks to SAMBA for 50th celebration

'As a former 1974 league participant and an invited guest, I was overwhelmed and extremely grateful for the attention given to myself and many other past SAMBA committee members in attendance.'

On Saturday, Sept. 10, the St. Albert Minor Baseball Association (SAMBA) organized and hosted a 50th anniversary celebration at Legion Memorial Park. St. Albert Branch 271 Legion Colour Party, resplendent in their dress uniforms and bearing flags, were front and centre and most impressive.

This professionally conducted ceremony was bolstered by a contingent of many SAMBA members. All were generous, kind, and helpful to anyone who required direction or assistance.

As a former 1974 league participant and an invited guest, I was overwhelmed and extremely grateful for the attention given to myself and many other past SAMBA committee members in attendance.

It is with unbridled appreciation that I thank the current SAMBA president and his committee for the tremendous honour of being provided the opportunity to connect with many old and new acquaintances on this spectacular and special day. Well done, SAMBA.

Robert (Bob) Burns, past-president, SAMBA
