So here we go again, trying to rewrite history. Apparently, St. Albert naming committee has received a request to rename the Grandin neighbourhood (Gazette, Oct. 10).
What a colossal waste of time, energy and money.
I would venture to say that the majority of Grandin residents are not in favour of renaming their district or any streets. Bishop Grandin may have done some things that would not be acceptable by today's standards. Nevertheless, he was an important part of this city's founding.
My sincere hope is that the naming committee gives this application the short shift it deserves.
