I found the two recent articles written by Kevin Ma to be very interesting. As a St. Albert resident for the past 47 years and a Hudson Bay Company employee for 30 years, I’m sure that a lot of customers will definitely miss the Bay. Having worked at the St. Albert Bay from when it opened I saw many changes to the Bay and the mall itself. Needless to say, I, along with many others, have fond memories of working at the Bay and singing in the mall!
My hope is that going forward the mall itself will survive. Without a main anchor store, that may be difficult. However, the COO of the company that owns the mall feels they will succeed in finding a new tenant for the space vacated by the Bay. With the mall's support in attracting and retaining tenants, we should still expect to have a St. Albert Mall.
