LETTER: City must stop spending money on consultants; do the job they were elected to do

They’ll tell us they know how to manage a business (which a city actually is), but then proceed to prove their complete lack of skills, qualifications, and ability by spending almost $2 million in 18 months on consultants to do the job the city “leaders” were elected to do.

Re: "City to report annually on consultant costs," The Gazette, Sept. 14.

It's always amazing to hear that the mayor and councillors who run for office and are elected lead the voters to believe they are the answer to our needs. They’ll tell us they know how to manage a business (which a city actually is), but then proceed to prove their complete lack of skills, qualifications, and ability by spending almost $2 million in 18 months on consultants to do the job the city “leaders” were elected to do. How does the populace pay for this incompetence — why higher taxes of course. It’s a disgrace.
