Re: Nally accuses school board of campaigning against UCP
As retired school teachers and school administrators, my husband Lou and I have on numerous occasions contacted MLA Dale Nally by telephone, in person and by email to express our concerns regarding the Alberta Education curriculum, underfunding (lowest per pupil in Canada), lack of school construction, overcrowding of classrooms and lack of educational support in classrooms. We have received the numerous form letters containing platitudes and the “talking points” of the UCP. We have yet to see much action to address the systemic problems with Alberta’s Education system.
Instead of whining about school boards or school officials campaigning against the UCP, Mr. Nally should work towards solving some of the inherent problems within what is rapidly becoming a second-class education system here in Alberta.
Mr. Nally suggests that the best way to support education is to get involved. We have been and continue to be involved in the support of education, but when the UCP does not listen, other methods for educational change need to be used. Congratulations to those who continue to speak up for educational change and refuse to accept the UCP platitudes instead of real action for change in Alberta education.
