Contrary to the wishes of the vast majority of Albertans, the UCP tried to get at pensions and to eject the RCMP. Now, Premier Smith is encouraging separation from Canada because the federal election results were not to her liking. The Premier will lower the bar to entice separatists to force a referendum in 2026. She says she isn’t a separatist, but actions speak louder than words.
Last Tuesday I visited MLA Dale Nally’s office. My MLA was not in the office, so I spoke with his assistant. He needs to understand how angry I am that the UCP were flirting with separatism.
The right-wing fringe doesn’t have a monopoly on anger. I am sufficiently ticked off that I will do all in my power to make sure my grandchildren don’t grow up in Northern Montana.
According to the Premier, the separatists are busy organizing and are well funded. If the UCP continue to give aid and comfort to separatism, let’s make their re-election as difficult as possible. So, the rest of us need to get organized.
