Staff will still answer answer phone calls and emails during regular downtown library hours, and online resources will remain available. Due dates for library materials have been extended and overdue fines have been suspended.

Practising good hygiene and employing preventative measures like social distancing can help prevent spread. Travel outside Canada is not recommended at this time, and anyone returning from outside of Canada should self-isolate for 14 days. 

All major county events paused till end of April

The following is a running list of events that have been cancelled or postponed, as well as facilities that have been closed, due to COVID-19. It will be updated as we learn of more developments.

EDMONTON — The University of Alberta says it is shutting down classes for the rest of the winter term and moving them online. It says the winter session is to end as scheduled April 8.

"Our priority is the health, safety and well-being of our patrons and staff. User groups will be contacted with more information."

Power said any school that experiences a potential exposure will send a notification to parents and she asks that families use the schools as their resource for information.

“The health of our patrons, staff and community is a top priority for St. Albert Public Library. To limit the spread of COVID-19, effective immediately, all Library programs, events, classes and outreach services are cancelled until March 31,” said CEO Peter Bailey.
