The Sherwood Park Celiac Support Group has partnered with the Allergy Asthma Information Association (AAIA) and YWCA YoWoChAs Outdoor Education Center to provide an opportunity for children with Celiac disease to attend summer camp. The camp is open to children 6 - 15 years of age and will be held at the YWCA YoWoChAs Outdoor Education Center (80 km west of Edmonton, AB) from July 23 to 27, 2012. The Celiac campers will participate in all camp activities, but the meal and snack menu has been modified to be gluten-free. Vinok Worldance captures a romantic period of Edmonton's booming past with Klondyke Kapers, a nostalgic song-and-dance revue that chronicles the colourful exploits of the 1890s Klondike Gold Rush. The evening showcases Vinok's own take on the event, complete with music and songs reflective of the times, dance steps that included a kickline or two, and elaborate costumes that relive a remarkable chapter of this city's past. The St. Albert Triathlon Association is hosting the St. Albert Kids of Steel triathlon, the Junior Elite and Under 23 triathlon at Fountain park recreation Centre on June 10th. Children between four and 19 years old can participate as an individual or as part of a team on a swim-bike-run course that varies in distance according to age group. The Junior triathlon is a bike draft legal race for athletes 16-19 years and the Under 23 event is for athletes up to age 23 years. The individual races will be Provincial Championships and a qualifier for the Alberta Summer Games for Zones 5 and 6. Please register by June 3rd.
