I have read with great interest the letters to the editor written by Mr. Ken Allred (St. Albert Gazette, June 25) and Mr. Michael E. Mann (Gazette, June 29.

When you read the Gazette editorial piece (July 2), one could easily conclude that Council passed a motion prohibiting all neighbouring residents from using our swimming pools.

So the English football hooligans have taken over? I am still a subject of Queen Elizabeth I of Scots and looking forward to paying homage to King Henry I and Queen Catherine of Scots when the homeland finally gets its independence.

In regard to the overly long defensive dissertation (St. Albert Gazette, June 29) by Michael Mann, a "Distinguished Professor", methinks he protesteth too much. Ken Allred is very intelligent, in every sense of the word.

So Michael Mann, with the longest bit of credentials I’ve ever seen, decides to weigh in on the climate debate that he alone cast into dispersion with his infamous ‘hockey-stick graph’.

We have just seen what happens when those who govern decide to pit the population against one another to choose direction about what citizens need. Now the mayor is going to ask us to make those kind of choices about facilities.

Congratulations to Ken Allred for demonstrating the courage that so many scientists lack. I hope he won't mind if I clarify some of his points.

Michael Mann's letter (Gazette, June 29) regarding climate change purports to be authoritative, but it is full of bias.

My name is Paul Medrano and I live in Stockton, Calif. I visited St Albert twice last year and last month I was again there. I am so captivated with your beautiful city.

Wow. A person is looking at the facts instead of the hype from regurgitating alarmists. What a breath of fresh thinking in the Gazette from Mr. Ken Allred.
