The only thing falling in St. Albert this afternoon will be the temperature.
The steady snowfall around the region is expected to clear by Saturday afternoon, according to Environment Canada, which is calling for another two-to-four centimetres to accumulate before conditions shift to a mix of sun and cloud around 2 p.m.
The wind will be coming from the northwest by late morning, helping the temperature fall to -20 C with a wind chill of -28 in the afternoon creating a risk of frostbite.
The wind is expected to ease by the evening with an overnight low of -24 C, wind chill -32.
Sunday’s high is expected to be just -22 C. Clear conditions and cold temperatures will be with us until at least Tuesday, with highs of -7 C and -10 C expected Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
